Starcade / DeadDrop
DeadDrop - Support
DeadDrop is a spy word game for 2 to 8 players. A Dropper sends one coded word and a number, and their Handlers find the Assets it points to without touching a Civilian or the Mole.
Three ways to play
- iMessage: in any conversation, tap the + next to the message field, choose DeadDrop, and start a New Room. Everyone who wants to play needs DeadDrop installed; Messages offers it when they tap the game.
- Local Wi-Fi: open the app, tap New Room, and nearby friends tap Join Room and enter the room code. Wi-Fi must be on, but you do not need a shared network, and it works in airplane mode with Wi-Fi switched on.
- One phone: New Room, then pick the one-phone table and pass the phone. The Dropper's key stays hidden behind a handover screen.
Modes
- Teams: two sides, each with a Dropper and Handlers, race to recover their Assets first.
- Duet: two players, two secret keys, working together against the clock.
Common questions
- My friend does not see my move. In iMessage, a move is only shared once you tap send. If the message bar still holds your turn, send it.
- Can't find nearby players? Check that Wi-Fi is on and that DeadDrop is allowed under Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.
- Switched phones mid-game? Open the game on the new phone and take your seat back from the lobby.
